Abstract

Histidylphenylalanylarginyltryptophane is prepared by reacting a protected derivative of histidine with a protected tripeptide phenylalanylarginyltryptophane and removing amino and carboxylic protecting groups. The amino acid residues may be in the L-, D-, or DL-forms. Starting materials prepared include BOC-Phe-(Tos)Arg-Try-OBz from BOC-PheOH; CBO - (Tos)ArgOMe, H(Tos)ArgOMe; BOC-Phe-(Tos)ArgOMe, free acid, hydrazide and azide; HTryOBz tosylate and free base; and BOC - Phe - (NO2)Arg - Try - OBz from BOC-(NO2) - ArgOH; BOC - (NO2) Arg - Try - OBz, and H(NO2)Arg-Try-OBz. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 872,332.
