Abstract

Un paquete caliente o frío instantáneo para transferir calor a o desde un objeto, destinado a ser reutilizable como paquete frío, que comprende: a. un primer compartimiento que contiene una cantidad predeterminada de un disolvente compuesto primordialmente por agua; b. un segundo compartimiento que contiene una cantidad predeterminada de un soluto en partículas capaz de disolverse en esencia completamente en el disolvente, con lo que se libera o absorbe una cantidad predeterminada de calor; c. medios para mezclar los contenidos del primer compartimiento y al segundo compartimiento en el momento de uso, con lo que el soluto puede disolverse en el disolvente; d. un tercer compartimiento que contiene una cantidad predeterminada de un agente gelificante capaz de gelificarse con la solución de disolvente y soluto a temperatura ambiente y producir un gel que es relativamente blando y moldeable cuando se enfría a temperaturas al menos tan bajas como -18ºC; y medios para mezclar el contenido del tercer compartimiento con los contenidos previamente mezclados del primer compartimiento y del segundo compartimiento, con lo que el agente gelificante puede gelificarse con la solución del disolvente y soluto.
