Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a battery with excellent gel holding property and high temperature storage property by solidifying an organic electrolyte with specified polymethylmethacrylate.
CONSTITUTION: An organic electrolyte, such as propylene carbonate solution of lithium flouborate (concentration of 1.0mol/l), is solidified with polymethylmethaacrylate polymerized below room temperature. The preferably polymerization temperature is 25°C∼70°C. The organic electrolyte is mixed with a gelling agent of polymethylmethacrylate, heated at about 90°C on an oil bath, and forms a sol after about 10min. The sol is cooled below room temperature to solidify, thus the gel of the organic electrolyte is obtained. Thus a battery with excellent gel holding property and high temperature storage property can be obtained.
