Abstract

Un método para tratar un flujo de fluido por radiación de microondas que utiliza un aparato que comprende un recipiente que tiene una pared lateral y primeras y segundas paredes de extremo opuestas que definen una cámara cilíndrica, estando la primera pared de extremo dispuesta a una distancia d1 predeterminada de la segunda pared de extremo, en donde el método comprende: fluido que fluye a través de una tubería, pasando la tubería a través de la primera pared de extremo hacia la segunda pared de extremo del recipiente, siendo la cámara y la tubería coaxiales y siendo la tubería transparente a la radiación de microondas; y la admisión de la radiación de microondas en la cámara desde una fuente de radiación de microondas, en donde la fuente de radiación de microondas tiene un magnetrón situado detrás de la pared lateral del recipiente y una antena que se extiende desde el magnetrón a través de una entrada de radiación de microondas en la pared lateral del recipiente y en la cámara de recipiente, en el que la longitud de onda λ de la radiación de microondas en la cámara es tal que la distancia d1 es igual a un múltiplo integral de λ/2 de manera que la cámara es un resonador de microondas, la entrada de radiación de microondas está descentrada con respecto a la extensión longitudinal de la cámara (d1) y un extremo libre distal de la antena está dispuesto a una distancia de proyección predeterminada d3 desde la pared lateral de la cámara que es menor o igual a λ/4 y mayor o igual a 3λ/16.
