Abstract

Una unidad (10) de propulsión para ser montada en una porción sumergida del casco (2) de un buque (1) marítimo, la unidad de propulsión que comprende: - una tobera (13) de hélice para ser montada, de forma pivotante, en el casco, - una hélice (14) dispuesta, de forma giratoria, dentro de la tobera (13), - unos medios (16) de accionamiento para accionar la hélice, y - un mecanismo (15) de despliegue para controlar la orientación de la tobera de hélice, en donde la tobera de hélice es pivotable alrededor de un eje (17) de pivotamiento de la tobera entre una orientación desplegada, en donde la hélice está dispuesta en una posición sustancialmente vertical adecuada para proporcionar un empuje para mover el buque y una orientación plegada, en donde la hélice está dispuesta en una posición inclinada o sustancialmente horizontal para reducir un calado (D) del buque, caracterizada porque el eje (17) de pivotamiento de la tobera intersecta a la tobera (13) de hélice.
