Unidad de a bordo para el pago de peaje de un vehículo, con un receptor de navegación por satélite (5) para la generación de puntos fijos de posición (pi); con una memoria (9) para el registro de geoobjetos (obj); con una interfaz de radio (11); y con un procesador (10) conectado en estos componentes (5, 9, 11), que está configurado para generar a parte de una comparación geográfica de puntos fijos de posición (pi) con geoobjetos (obj) en un mapa digital (8) datos de peaje (tr); y para enviarlos a través de la interfaz de radio (11), caracterizada por que la memoria (9) presenta: una zona de memoria de índices (M3), en la que está registrado un árbol de índice (16) para geoobjetos (obj), cuyas ramas más exteriores (b1) están asociadas, respectivamente, a una celda (cm) del mapa digital (8) y llevan una hoja (lvm) con identificaciones (idj) de geoobjetos (obj) de esta celda (cm), una primera zona de memoria estática de objetos (M1), en la que está registra una lista primaria (19) con geoobjetos (obj); y sus identificaciones (idj), y una segunda zona de memoria de objetos (M2) que se puede describir dinámicamente a través de la interfaz de radio (11), en la que está registrada al menos una lista secundaria (25) con geoobjetos (obj) y sus identificaciones (idj); en la que al menos una hoja (lvm) del árbol de índices (16) contiene una referencia (28) a una lista secundaria (25); y en la que el procesador (10) está configurado, durante el acceso a un geoobjeto (obj) sobre una hoja (lvm), cuando ésta contiene una referencia (28) a una lista secundaria (25), para utilizar la lista secundaria (25) con prioridad a la lista primaria (19).
