Furthermore, a method for the manufacture of the book, wherein individual layers or sheets are gathered together to form a book block, the book block is bound, subsequently mounted in a cover and pressed and trimming is carried out, the collated products being finally trimmed prior to the gluing of the back in the adhesive binder and the book blocks being mounted in the cover in the adhesive binder. The method is expediently carried out in a device consisting of a book line which has in the compilation and in the sequence a gathering machine (1), downstream of which there is arranged a trimmer (2), preferably with a punch-perforation system, an adhesive binder (4), in which a cover mounting device is integrated, following the trimmer.
