Abstract

Un método de suministro de una conexión inalámbrica a un cliente móvil, cuyo método comprende: iniciar un proceso de búsqueda de puntos de acceso (110A-C) en modo desconectado, en donde la búsqueda de puntos de acceso en modo desconectado comprende: supervisar el movimiento del cliente móvil utilizando un sensor de baja potencia dispuesto a bordo del cliente móvil y iniciar un proceso de búsqueda de puntos de acceso en modo desconectado cuando un desplazamiento del cliente móvil supera una distancia umbral; conectar a un punto de acceso encontrado por el proceso de búsqueda de puntos de acceso en modo desconectado; realizar un proceso de búsqueda de puntos de acceso en modo conectado, en donde la búsqueda de puntos de acceso, en el modo conectado, comprende: iniciar periódicamente un proceso de búsqueda de puntos de acceso en modo conectado, en donde el proceso de búsqueda de puntos de acceso en modo conectado incluye un umbral de intensidad de señal para los posibles puntos de acceso; supervisar el movimiento del cliente móvil usando el sensor de baja potencia dispuesto a bordo del cliente móvil, determinar una densidad de puntos de acceso de una red inalámbrica (106); ajustar el umbral de intensidad de la señal en función de la densidad de puntos de acceso así determinada y ajustar una frecuencia de la iniciación periódica en función del movimiento que se supervisa y de la densidad de puntos de acceso determinada.
