Abstract

The invention deals with the field of processed for labelling vessels, in particular bottles, made of any type of material, and more precisely those processes that use adhesive labels provided in a reel on a support made of a PET film. Description

The present invention relates to a method of labeling containers.

It is known that, for labeling containers such as bottles with adhesive labels, reels of silicone paper are used in which the labels are fixed, said labels already presenting an adhesive that will be used to fix them to the container or bottle.

Recently, instead of using paper as a support, a film made of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is used for reasons of manufacturing speed.

Generally, in the case of slow manufacturing speeds, siliconized paper is used, while in the case of high speeds, a PET support, completely transparent and without stamping, is used.

Once the procedure of separating the label from the support has been performed, the labeling machine rewinds the paper reel or the plastic film on a cardboard or plastic tube without any other particular concern.

In both cases, said coils are macerated with high disposal costs.

It must be taken into account that current labeling machines reach speeds such that they consume PET films of approximately 300 to 400 meters / minute.

Recently, it is also common to label containers with labels made of transparent PET, printed on plastic films and arranged in reels, which are cut into sections to form the labels that are transferred to the containers by means of drum devices, when the label has been Hot impregnated on its front and back faces with a vertical band of glue.

It is therefore the objective of the present invention to recover discarded reels of support films for adhesive labels, completely without problems of eliminating said reels and recovering and taking advantage of the useful material.

Said objective is fully achieved by a container labeling procedure characterized by the content of the appended claims and, in particular, because it provides that the labels that can be used in a hot-tailed labeling process or in the formation of tubular labels in A thermal shrink film is provided printed on the opposite side to which the adhesive labels are attached.

Referring to figure 1, the numerical reference 1 indicates a film made of PET on one side 3 on which the adhesive labels 2 are fixed.

The other side 4 is printed with an image 5 present throughout the entire film.

In various containers or bottles, it is envisaged to apply more than one label, such as in beers where a small label (seal) is applied on the neck and under the actual label: in both cases, the labels can be made with PET

Advantageously, but not exclusively, the adhesive labels are the seals and the support film has the labels for the same bottle printed on it, as shown in Figure 2.

The diagram of figure 2 represents a reel 10 for the film 1, in whose front part small labels or seals 2 are applied, which are transferred (at station 14 of figure 3) to the bottles 11 by known techniques.

The film, which is unwound when labeling the adhesive labels, is rewound so as to form a reel 12 comprising the printed image 5.

The coil 12 is reused in the same machine, as shown in Figure 3, in a station 13 that unrolls and cuts the film to form the labels that are transferred to the bottle by known techniques.

Working in this way, the reel for the backing film that has become a label reel is immediately reused for the same containers labeled with the adhesive labels.

10 Because the non-adhesive labels have to wrap the entire container, the labels or small seals must have a slightly greater development: therefore, the film reels that are recovered are not sufficient for the supply of a labeller and, therefore, they will have to be reintegrated with unrecovered label reels.

Claims (2)

1. Procedure for labeling containers (11) with an adhesive label (2) and a printed label (5), said adhesive label (2) and printed label (5) being provided on opposite sides (3, 4) of a support film (1), characterized in that it comprises the steps of:

•

transfer said adhesive label (2) of said film (1) to containers (11);

•

rewinding said film (1) unwound in said transfer stage of said adhesive label (2) in order to form a reel (12) comprising said printed label (5);

10 - unwind and cut said film (1) of said reel (12) comprising said printed label (5), to form the label (5) to be transferred to containers (11) • transfer said printed label (5) to containers (11). 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein said film (1) of said reel (12) comprising said printed label (5) is a reintegration reel of unrecovered labels (2).
