Abstract

Description

The invention concerns a method of sanitation of a railway track by renewing rails and cleaning a ballast bench, in which the ballast is continuously collected by a scraping device, cleaned and then thrown into the track to restore the bench of ballast. 5

The cleaning of the ballast bed is known in multiple ways, for example by document US 4 614 238 or document US 4 892 151. This problem is solved according to the invention with a method of the generic class set forth by means of the particulars indicated in the characterizing clause of claim 1.

Due to this combination of procedural steps it is possible to previously lay new rails on the railroad in a very advantageous way for sanitation of the track, without thereby damaging the cleaning of the ballast that takes place before the exchange of the rails . As an additional advantage, the new rails can be placed on the bench after cleaning the ballast in such a way that the necessary lower ballasting of the railroad to be performed immediately afterwards is not impaired.
