Abstract
Method of introducing a powdery material into a bath of molten metal, which includes sucking the powder from a closed storage space, fed with a carrier gas, and conducting the resulting stream of powder-laden gas below the surface of said bath, characterized in that the proportion at which the powder is introduced into the metal bath is varied independently of the gas flow rate by supplying said jet with a fixed gas pressure and adjusting the gas pressure in the storage space of the powder to a selected value lower than the pressure of the gas supplied to said jet.
