La invención se refiere a un 4-tert.-butilciclohexil acetato que comprende al menos 90% de 4-tert.-butilciclohexil acetato, y 50 ppm o menos de ácido acético, y cuyo punto de congelación es de -35ºC o más, a su procedimiento de preparación y a un perfume que lo incluye, el 4-tert.-butilciclohexil acetato y el perfume que lo incluye tienen un olor leñoso y afrutado que hace que sean preferentemente utilizados como perfumes.
