Abstract
Un procedimiento de licuefacción de microorganismos presentes en una suspensión de fangos activados residuales producidos por una planta biológica de tratamiento de aguas residuales, comprendiendo el fango mencionado sólidos volátiles, en el que el procedimiento mencionado se caracteriza por las etapas de: (a) tratar químicamente los microorganismos mencionados presentes en la suspensión mencionada para debilitar sus paredes celulares; y (b) hacer pasar la suspensión mencionada a través de una tobera que tiene un área de flujo restringido a una presión que supere 83.000 kPa para originar la licuefacción de los microorganismos mencionados a medida que éstos son descargados por la tobera mencionada, en el que el procedimiento mencionado aumenta la velocidad de biodegradación de los sólidos volátiles mencionados en al menos un 200 % comparada con la de un fango no tratado.
