Abstract

La invención se refiere a un procedimiento para determinar el espesor de una banda de material continuo, en el cual se emplean procedimientos ópticos sin contacto, y la medición se efectúa con espectros ópticos, preferiblemente en la gama de los infrarrojos (IR). Según la invención, los espectros continuos se evalúan por medio de procedimientos quimiométricos y / o redes neuronales, a partir de los cuales se determina convenientemente el espesor de la banda de material, empleando bases de aprendizaje. Un dispositivo adecuado para llevar a cabo el procedimiento se caracteriza por un espectrómetro (1) que tiene al menos una fuente de luz, medios (10, 10'',...) para transferir la luz a la banda de material (100), dispositivos (30, 31, 31'') para medir la intensidad de la luz después de la transmisión a través de la banda de material (100) y la posterior evaluación a fin de determinar el espesor del material.
