Abstract

Un dispositivo digital de interfaz envía señales entre buses de datos de un avión y una est ación de armas en la punta de las alas. Se dispone una primera interfaz que se acopla con un conector de entrada/salida de un dispositivo de un subsistema de instrumentación de un avión F/A-18. Una segunda interfaz se acopla a un bus de armamento secundario. Un cable de interconexión interconecta la estación de armamento de la punta del ala con el bus de armamento secundario. Un módulo digital de procesamiento de datos se acopla con la primera y la segunda interfaz y está programado para transmitir señales entre los sistemas de datos del avión acoplados con el conector de entrada/salida del F/A-18 y la estación de armamento de la punta del ala. Nominalmente, el módulo de procesamiento controla las señales recibidas en el conector de entrada/salida y extrae las señales direccionadas a una o más direcciones predeterminadas. El módulo también transmite señales reformateadas a la estación de armamento dela punta del ala. Con un mínimo de cambios en el cableado, la interfaz convierte fácilmente un avión diseñado para un compartimento de armamento ACT montado en la parte delantera para ser utilizado con un compartimento de armamento ACT montado en una estación en la punta del ala. Otras ventajas es que el módulo de procesamiento se enchufa en un conector de entrada/salida existente para sustituir un compartimento de armamento ACT montado en la punta del avión.
