DINITROTOLUENOS SE OBTIENEN MEDIANTE NITRACION ADIABATICA DE TOLUENO CON ACIDO NITRICO A TEMPERATURAS DE 60 A 20° C Y CON UNA REACCION MOLAR DE TOLUENO CON RESPECTO AL ACIDO NITRICO DE 1 : 1,5 HASTA 1 : 3,0, CONCENTRANDO LA MEZCLA OBTENIDA HASTA QUE TENGA UN CONTENIDO EN AGUA DE HASTA EL 30 % EN PESO, EL DINITROTOLUENO QUE ESTA PRESENTE EN LA MEZCLA SE QUITA ANTES O DESPUES DE LA CONCENTRACION DE LA MEZCLA TOTAL O PARCIALMENTE, EL QUE SE ENCUENTRA EN LOS LIQUIDOS QUE SE FORMAN DURANTE LA CONCENTRACION DE LA MEZCLA, SE MANTIENE LIQUIDO MEDIANTE LA ADICION DE UN DISOLVENTE, EL DISOLVENTE JUNTO CON LOS LIQUIDOS CON EL DNT SE SEPARA DE LA FASE ACUOSA Y A CONTINUACION SE SEPARA EL DNT DEL DISOLVENTE O SE LLEVA OTRA VEZ A LOS LIQUIDOS, Y EL DNT QUE SE HA SEPARADO DE LOS LIQUIDOS SE UNE CON EL DNT QUE SE HA OBTENIDO DE LA MEZCLA, O SE LLEVA OTRA VEZ A LA REACCION, O JUNTO CON EL DNT SEPARADO DEL DISOLVENTE SE LLEVA OTRA VEZ A LA REACCION.
