Abstract

Un método para generar una señal codificada (51) codificando una pluralidad de señales de entrada (1, 2, 3) que representan cada una un respectivo canal de información de audio, comprendiendo dicho método las etapas de: generar una pluralidad de señales de banda secundaria de canal (11, 12, 21, 22, 31, 32) que representan dichas señales de entrada en una pluralidad de bandas secundarias de frecuencias, generar una señal compuesta (61; 161; 71, 72, 73) que representa al menos una parte de la anchura de banda de dichas señales de entrada, generar una señal de característica espacial (41, 42) que representa características espaciales de un campo de sonido en respuesta a las respectivas señales de banda secundaria de canal en una banda secundaria de frecuencias, en que dicha señal de característica espacial transporta información que representa niveles de señal de dichas respectivas señales de banda secundaria de canal, y confiurar o acoplar dicha señal compuesta y dichaseñal de característicaespacial en dicha señal codificada; caracterizado porque dicha generación de dicha señal de característica espacial limita el régimen al que se pueden cambiar las señales de característica espacial, por lo que los regímenes de cambio que permiten una disminución del nivel que caiga por debajo del umbral de esmascaramiento temporal posterior del sistema de audición humano son reducidos siempre que el nivel resultante no exceda ese umbral de enmascaramiento.
