Abstract
Se describe un procedimiento para preparar 3,3-dimetilbutiraldehído utilizando gel de sílice para isomerizar 3,3-dimetil-1,2-epoxibutano, que a su vez puede prepararse mediante oxidación de dimetilbuteno. Se describe también un procedimiento para la oxidación de dimetilbuteno con dimetildioxirano, formando 3,3-dimetil-1,2-epoxibutano. Los procedimientos proporcionan un medio económico de preparar 3,3-dimetilbutiraldehído.
