The preparation of a paella for final cooking comprises treatment of rice (1) with olive oil in a container (2), simultaneous with production of the paella broth (3) in two containers (4,4') yielding a selected alternative broth (3'). The product also incorporates frozen cooked material (5) obtained from a further container (6) located in a common container (7) for transport of the paella. The paella is finally cooked ten minutes immediately prior to consumption.
