Abstract
Fuente neutrónica intensa con minimización de productos radiactivos, que usa deuterones (iones de deuterio) acelerados (1) que impactan sobre un blanco (2) de espesor adecuado y compuesto de materiales de muy bajo número atómico (como el propio deuterio, o litio, o berilio). Los deuterones pueden sufrir escisión (en protón y neutrón) en el momento del impacto, y así mismo pueden escindirse los núcleos del blanco, así mismo con producción de neutrones, y sin que aparezcan productos de fisión o nucleidos radiactivos de intermedio o alto número másico y larga vida media. Los neutrones (3) así producidos nacen con energía muy elevada (~10 MeV) y con dirección muy similar a la de los deuterones incidentes, por lo que pueden inyectarse perfectamente en sistemas neutrónicos adyacentes a la fuente.
