Abstract
The intense neutron source not generating fission products comprises a system minimizing radioactive products formation. Accelerated deuterium ions (1) strike an e.g. deuterium, lithium or beryllium target (2) with proton and neutron formation free from the appearance of fission products. EMBODIMENT - The neutrons (3) are of very high energy (ca. 10 MeV) and very similar in direction to be incident deuterium ions. This facilitates injection in neutron systems adjoining the source.
