EL REVESTIMIENTO DE ACERO ES COSTOSO Y EXIGE VARIAS ETAPAS DE TRABAJO. SEGUN LA INVENCION, SE APLICA DIRECTAMENTE A LA ALEACION DE ALUMINIO MEDIANTE PULVERIZACION TERMICA, EN PARTICULAR MEDIANTE PULVERIZACION EN PLASMA, UNA CAPA QUE CONTIENE ENTRE UN 10 Y UN 70 % DE POLVO DE MOLIBDENO Y ENTRE UN 90 Y UN 30 % DE POLVO DE ACERO Y QUE FORMA UNA CAPA DESLIZANTE. LA CAPA ES MUY RESISTENTE A LA ABRASION Y SE ADHIERE BIEN A LA ALEACION LIGERA. LA INVENCION SE UTILIZA EN MOTORES DE PISTONES ALTERNATIVOS CON BLOQUES DE ALEACION LIGERA.
