Abstract

Acero inoxidable austenítico con bajo contenido en níquel. El acero inoxidable austenítico tiene bajo contenido en níquel (inferior al 7%) y altos niveles de manganeso, nitrógeno y cobre (hasta 14%, 0,35% y 3% respectivamente). Las aleaciones tienen unos costes de producción reducidos con respecto a los aceros inoxidables estándar equivalentes de uso más extendido (AISI 304 y 316), dado su menor nivel de níquel, mientras que sus propiedades mecánicas y de conformabilidad se mantienen a niveles equivalentes o superiores a las de éstos. Las aleaciones poseen, además, una buena colabilidad, deformabilidad en caliente, estabilidad estructural y soldabilidad, y presentan la posibilidad de ser empleadas en aplicaciones en las que se requiera una alta resistencia a. la corrosión, especialmente por picaduras. El empleo del cobre permite obtener grados de embutibilidad y maquinabilidad superiores a otras aleaciones bajo níquel existentes. Estas alegaciones son potenciales sustitutas de las estándarAISI 304 y 316 en todas sus aplicaciones.
