Abstract

System and method for preheating a mixture of fuel and air by introducing the mixture inside a furnace combustion chamber which consists in passing the mixture through a nozzle which extends inside a downstream portion of an opening defined in a wall which encloses the combustion chamber. The nozzle is dimensioned in order to form an annular space between the nozzle and the opening. Hot air is introduced via the annular space and is mixed with and/or preheats, in a downstream portion of the opening, the mixture which passes through the nozzle. The preheated mixture then passes into the combustion chamber of the furnace in order to be burnt in the inside thereof.
