EN UN METODO DE MEDICION EN UNA FIBRA OPTICA (2), SE LANZA UN PULSO POR EL INTERIOR DE LA FIBRA, Y SE MIDE EL CURSO TEMPORAL (8, 9) DEL ECO DE ESTE PULSO. ENTONCES, UN NIVEL DE SEÑAL QUE REPRESENTA EL RUIDO DE FONDO PRESENTE EN LA FIBRA, SE RESTA EN UN PROCESO DE SEÑAL SUBSIGUIENTE AL ECO DE LA SEÑAL. EL NIVEL DE SEÑAL QUE REPRESENTA EL RUIDO DE FONDO PRESENTE SE CALCULA BASANDOSE EN EL VALOR INSTANTANEO (20) DEL RUIDO DE FONDO, EL CUAL SE ASUME DURANTE LA MEDICION DE LA SEÑAL DE ECO. EN UNA PRIMERA MATERIALIZACION DE LA IDEA, EL RUIDO DE FONDO SE MIDE EN UNA LONGITUD DE ONDA DIFERENTE DE LA LONGITUD DE ONDA DEL PULSO EMITIDO. EN UNA SEGUNDA MATERIALIZACION DE LA IDEA, EN DONDE SE LANZAN VARIOS PULSOS SUCESIVOS (25, 26) POR EL INTERIOR DE LA FIBRA, LA ENERGIA OPTICA (27) SE LANZA POR EL INTERIOR DE LA FIBRA CON UNA LONGITUD DE ONDA DISTINTA DE LA LONGITUD DE ONDA DEL PULSO DURANTE LOS INTERVALOS ENTRE DICHOS PULSOS.
