Abstract

Guided Transportation System with linear propulsion by bilateral motor with high moment of inertia secondary in the longitudinal and transverse senses. Guided Transportation System with linear propulsion consisting of vehicle, track, power pickup, power supply and automation subsystems permitting high technical performance and reducing construction and operating costs compared with systems used up to now. The vehicle subsystem is designed as a continuous articulated train whose length is limited only by that of the stations on the line. The propulsion of the train is by bilateral linear electric motors with short stators and high moment of inertia in the longitudinal and transverse senses. The track subsystem, formed by a hollow beam with a special cross section, also assumes the conventional functions of support and guiding and propulsion functions, given that its steel core forms part of the common secondary of the linear motors whose primaries are mounted on the vehicle subsystem.
