Abstract

The distributor has a generator (10) feeding an iron, and a filling aperture (11) with a stopper (40) and a branch pipe to feed steam to a separate attachment. The branch pipe system incorporates a locking member (31) which prevents the branch unit (30) from being removed from the filling aperture while the steam is under pressure, and a duct (30) between the filling aperture and the stopper. The stopper itself is equipped with a safety mechanism which prevents the removal of the branch unit while the steam is under pressure. The locking member (31) has a projecting tooth to engage with a recess in a component (63) on the generator to prevent removal while under steam pressure, and the branch pipe has a control valve (33) to control the steam flow to the separate attachment, e.g. a steam cleaner.
