In particular, a support element for a liquid flow-rate regulator in a washing machine includes at least one solenoid valve 2 for admitting the water to the machine and connectible to the water mains 7 by means of a flexible pipe 8 the respective ends of which are provided with first and second ring nuts 9, 10 engageable on a corresponding threaded pipe union of the solenoid valve and on a corresponding threaded portion 11 of a tap connected to the water mains, characterised in that it is constituted by the second ring nut 10 in the internal cavity of which at least one flow-rate regulator 14 is removably housed. <IMAGE>

Description

A SUPPORT ELEMENT FOR A LIQUID FLOW-RATE REGULATOl?, PARTICULARLY FOR WASHING MACHINES The invention relates to a support element for a liquid flow-rate regulator, particularly for washing machines, the element being adapted to enable the quick and easy fitting or possible replacement of the flow-rate regulator of the machine in question.
As is known, washing machines are currently provided with at least one conventional flow-rate regulator for keeping the rate of flow of the water admitted to the machine within predetermined limits, in dependence on the pressure of the mains water supply, so that it can achieve effective removal of the detergent substances contained in the detergent dispenser of the machine.
In particular, the flow-rate regulator is installed beforehand, together with a filter, within the body of the solenoid valve which regulates the flow of water into the machine, the body being provided with metal or plastics brackets which can be fixed to the back panel of the machine, as well as with two pipe unions, one of which is connected to the detergent dispenser or to any other water-filling system of the machine, and the other of which is fitted through a corresponding through-hole in the back panel and then connected to the end of the flexible supply pipe whose other end is connected to a corresponding mains water tap.
The flow-rate regulator thus installed is functionally satisfactory and reliable and can also be removed or possibly replaced by other flow-rate regulators of the same type if necessary in the event of a defective regulator or a mains water supply pressure above or below certain limits. However, this replacement is difficult and somewhat impractical in use, since it requires various operations for dismantling and fitting the flexible pipe and the solenoid valve of the machine.
The object of the present invention, therefore, is to overcome the disadvantages and limitations described above by the use of a support element for a flow-rate regulator of this type, which enables quick and easy fitting or replacement of the flow-rate regulator in the machine in question.
These objects are achieved by a support element formed as described in the one claim for the present invention.
The invention will be understood better from the following description given, purely by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the single appended drawing which shows the support element according to the invention, usable in combination with a washing machine.
As can be seen from the drawing, which shows schematically the back panel 1 of the casing of a washing machine or dishwasher, as well as a solenoid valve for admitting water to the machine, the solenoid valve is fitted with its body 3 against the inner surface of the back panel, in known manner, and is also provided with a pipe union 4 for connection to the detergent dispenser (not shown) of the machine and/or any other water-filling system and with a threaded pipe union 5 which is fitted through a corresponding through-hole 6 in the back panel for connection to the mains water supply 7 by means of a flexible pipe 8.
In particular, the ends of this flexible pipe are provided with corresponding ring nuts 9 and 10 which are respectively engageable on the threaded pipe union 5 of the valve body 3, after the conventional filter (not shown) has been inserted in the latter, and on the threaded portion 11 of the tap 12 which is connected to the mains supply 7, in order to enable water to be introduced into the machine.
According to the innovative characteristic of the present invention and with reference to the enlarged detail showing the ring nut 10 in cross-section, it will be noted that at least one flow-rate regulator 14 of conventional type is inserted in the internal cavity 13 of the ring nut in question before the ring nut is screwed onto the threaded portion 11 of the tap 12.
In this way, as well as connecting the flexible pipe 8 to the mains supply 7, the ring nut 10 also performs the function of a support element for the flow-rate regulator 14, thus allowing the flow-rate regulator of the washing machine to be installed and replaced quickly and easily, and making this solution practical in use.
