Abstract

The pressure monitor includes a cylindrical container (12) made in two halves which houses the pressure transducer (13) and has a screw thread end plug (21). The screw thread has an inner hole for a spring (26). The outer container has a locator (16) which locates into a hole in the optical fibre cable sheath. There is also a connecting hole (15) via a hole in the sheath (18) to allow pressure monitoring. Transducer electrical connections (28) connect to wires (31,33) in a guide channel (33) in the container base (19). The wires traverse back into the optical cable junction.
