Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized multicore optical connector capable of connecting plural optical transmission lines by allowing core holders, housed in a plug cover, to hold cores, each having an extremely small hole where an optical fiber wire is inserted in the center, at a taime, and then inserting the cores into the insertion holes of sleeves. CONSTITUTION:Plural cores of optical fiber wires 12 inserted into the extremely small holes 12 of a plug are held in the circle holes 16 of core holders 15 by coil springs 17 and pipes 18 respectively. Each pipe 18 is screwed into and fixed in the core holder 15 with a screw 19. The sheathed code 13b of the optical fiber core 13a is fixed in a pipe 18 with an adhesive 20. The cores 11 held by the core holders 15 housed in a plug cover 21 are inserted into the insertion holes 25 of sleeves held in one by the receptacle 23 of an adapter, and then fixed through the projections 22 of the plug cover 21 and the recessed parts 24 of the receptacle 23. Therefore, transmission lines are connected into small-sized constitution.
