Abstract

Method of automatic control of the semi-dry press cycle in the ceramic tile compaction process. Consists of automating the ceramic tile compaction process, which up to now has required a large amount of manual control, by means of developing special sensors which until now have not been used in this type of process achieving an advanced control algorithm, with suitable regulation mechanisms. Product quality is increased on improving continuous, real-time control over compaction maintenance. The moisture of the sprayed powder is determined by its on-line measurement before pressing, altering the pressure of the pressing as the moisture varies. The control algorithm is obtained by means of a diagram of compaction between apparent raw density values, pressing pressure and moisture and an open control loop can be set up that self-regulates the pressing operation.
