EL APARATO INCLUYE UN BIOREACTOR (1) QUE TIENE UNA ENTRADA (6) PARA ACEPTAR UN SUMINISTRO CONTINUO DE LA CORRIENTE DE AGUA Y UNA SALIDA DE REBOSAMIENTO (7), MEDIANTE LO CUAL UN VOLUMEN DE MUESTRA PUEDE MANTENERSE EN EL INTERIOR DEL REACTOR. LA VELOCIDAD DE SUMINISTRO SE ESCOGE PARA ASEGURAR UN TIEMPO DE RETENCION HIDRAULICA (HRT) EN EL REACTOR SUFICIENTE PARA COMPLETAR SUBSTANCIALMENTE LA OXIDACION DE LOS COMPUESTOS BIODEGRADABLES EN LA CORRIENTE DE SUMINISTRO. SE HACE PASAR AIRE (2) DE FORMA PERIODICA A TRAVES DEL VOLUMEN DE LA MUESTRA PARA AJUSTAR LOS PERIODOS Y SE DETERMINA EL CONSUMO DE OXIGENO (OUR) MIDIENDO EL CONTENIDO DE OXIGENO DISUELTO POR MEDIO DE UNA SONDA (3) DURANTE LOS PERIODOS DE CORTE DEL SUMINISTRO DE AIRE.
