CUANDO SE DEBE PURIFICAR UNA CORRIENTE DE GAS DE HUMO CONTENIENDO CANTIDADES LIGERAS DE AMONIACO, EN PARTICULAR DESPUES DE UN PROCESO DE ELIMINACION DE NITROGENO, DEBE TENERSE CUIDADO DE QUE ESTE ELEMENTO NO SE DESCARGUE AL MEDIO AMBIENTE JUNTAMENTE CON LAS CENIZAS VOLATILES O CON EL AGUA UTILIZADA PARA LA LIMPIEZA DEL GAS DE HUMO. EN UN PROCESO CONOCIDO, EL AGUA DE LAVADO SE INYECTA EN LA CORRIENTE DE GAS DE HUMO AGUAS ARRIBA DEL SEPARADOR SECO, DESPUES DE QUE EL AMONIACO HA SIDO DESCARTADO Y EVAPORADO, DE FORMA QUE NO SE DESCARGA AGUA RESIDUAL AL EXTERIOR. LAS CENIZAS VOLATILES ESTAN SOMETIDAS A UN TRATAMIENTO ADICIONAL PARA LA REDUCCION DEL CONTENIDO DE AMONIACO DE FORMA QUE LOS VALORES LIMITES ADMISIBLES PUEDEN SER RESPETADOS. SE DESCRIBE UN PROCESO LIBRE DE AGUA RESIDUAL, EN DONDE EL CONTENIDO EN AMONIACO DE LAS CENIZAS VOLATILES PRODUCIDAS EN EL SEPARADOR SECO, ES TAN BAJO QUE LAS CENIZAS VOLATILES PUEDEN SER RECICLADAS Y PUESTAS A DISPOSICION SIN TRATAMIENTO POSTERIOR. PARA ESTE PROPOSITO, EL AGUA DE LAVADO A PARTIR DEL PROCESO DE LAVADO SE LLEVA A UN VALOR DEL PH DESDE 12 A 13 ANTES DE QUE SEA INYECTADO DENTRO DE LA CORRIENTE DE GAS DE HUMO Y DESPUES DE QUE HA SIDO SUSTANCIALMENTE LIBERADO DE AMONIACO. LA INVENCION ES PARTICULARMENTE ADECUADA PARA GASES DE HUMO DE LIMPIEZA DE PLANTAS DE INCINERACION DE RESIDUOS.
