LA PROTESIS PARA ARTICULACION DE LA CADERA PRESENTA UN VASTAGO (1), EL CUAL ENTRE EL BORDE (2) Y EL EXTREMO DISTAL (3) SE COMPONE DE DOS SECCIONES (7,8) CURVADAS OPUESTAS SOBRE LA CARA ANCHA. LA SECCION SUPERIOR (7) ESTA FORMADA CONVEXA HACIA POSTERIOR EN LA CARA ANCHA POSTERIOR. ADICIONALMENTE PRESENTA EL VASTAGO (1) UNA PEQUEÑA TORSION, CON LO QUE LA CARA ESTRECHA MEDIAL ESTA TORCIDA DE MODO CRECIENTE HACIA ANTERIOR HASTA EL EXTREMO DISTAL (3). EL VASTAGO (1) ASI FORMADO ESTA ADAPTADO DE MODO OPTIMO A LA ANATOMIA DEL HUESO, DE FORMA QUE ES MINIMA LA FUERZA DE PRESION QUE ACTUA POR UNIDAD DE SUPERFICIE.
