SE DESCRIBE UN CATALIZADOR FORMADO POR OXIDOS DE MG-AL Y CU, Y OPCIONALMENTE CE, QUE ES CAPAZ DE ELIMINAR EL SOX Y NOX DE EFLUENTES GASEOSOS. EL CATALIZADOR ACTUA EN ATMOSFERA OXIDANTE, QUEDANDO EL SO3 RETENIDO SOBRE EL CATALIZADOR EN FORMA DE SULFATOS. EN ESTA ETAPA, ADEMAS PARTE DEL NOX DESCOMPONE CATALITICAMENTE A N2 Y O2. POSTERIORMENTE, Y EN ATMOSFERA REDUCTORA, LOS SULFATOS DESCOMPONEN GENERANDOSE SH2, QUE ES RECUPERADO POR METODOS CONVENCIONALES, REGENERANDOSE EL CATALIZADOR DE ELIMINACION DE AZUFRE.
