Abstract
The power supply has a transformer with two sec. windings (1,2) with the same winding direction, each coupled to respective rectifiers (3,4) and charging or smoothing capacitors (5,6). The first sec. forms a lower drive voltage for a l.f. amplifier (7), and the second provides an upper drive voltage additively superimposed on the lower voltage. A switch (8,9) responds to the sensed (10) amplifier drive current to turn off the second voltage when the current' exceeds a set threshold, and to supply both voltages additively when the current's below the threshold.
