Abstract

Method for repairing the body of a used gas cylinder containing a small volume of residual gas at atmospheric pressure, comprising the following steps: a) removing the valve from the cylinder, b) scouring the cylinders, c) pressurising the cylinder, d) identifying faults on the body of the cylinder and treating these faults by localised heating of the damaged zones. According to the invention, the step c) of this method consists in producing sufficient partial vacuum inside the cylinder then in injecting therein compressed air at a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure.
