Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it unnecessary to use a lift device such as crane or the like and make execution safe and easy by reducing the risk of damaging members to be installed by towing a caisson partially submerged under water in a vicinity of the surface of the sea to an installation site and fixing the caisson on a predetermined support fixed on the sea bed. CONSTITUTION: Two sets of vertical partition walls 51 , 52 , 53 and 61 , 62 , 63 directed in orthogonal directions to each other from a slab 4 are provided, and communication between damping chambers 9 is established by providing openings 8 in the partition walls 61 to 64 . A vertical sleeve 7 is provided to constitute a caisson 1 made of steel reinforced concrete. A plurality of the caissons 1 are towed to an installation site in a floating state and installed on a support constituted by piles 2 for foundation driven into the sea bed 3. A protection device against swell is laid by housing ends of the piles 2 in the sleeve 7 and connecting the caissons 1 at end parts thereof. By such a method, installation can be executed easily without using a lift device such as crane or the like.
