Abstract

In order to provide a headrest for motor vehicles comprising of a frame-shaped preformed element made of plastics having connecting means for fixing it to the seat back of a motor vehicle seat and further comprising a covering made of cloth or a similar covering material which encloses the preformed element, with which the mounting of the individual elements, and especially also the positioning of the covering, can be performed at low cost, it is proposed that the frame-shaped preformed element (1) should have a separation zone (4) extending at right angles to the plane of the frame enclosed by the preshaped element (1), that the covering be formed as a tube which can be pushed onto a crosspiece of the frame, and that, with the covering pushed on, crosspieces of the frame can be fastened to one another in the separation zone (4) region.
