Abstract

An electrically controlled valve 28 is situated in the idling mixture duct 17 and a valve control circuit 31 has inputs connected to pickups 32, 33 for engine operating parameters including at least the engine speed N and the throttle valve angle alpha . A pulsed output signal has a variable duty ratio retrieved from a circuit memory. The valve 28 progressively reduces idling mixture flow as valve 13 opens and the carburettor main fuel system operates. The valve may prevent mixture flow at overrunning and when the engine ignition is switched-off.
