Abstract
A method of balancing a diaphragm spring clutch assembly comprises determining the angular position and magnitude of the imbalance and their cutting out material 16, 17 steplessly from the marginal region 10 of the clutch cover 2. The cutting operation starts at the marginal edges of the region 10 and progressively returns to the edge 8. The material may be cut out by a punch, a water-jet, a laser or by a plasma cutting operation.
