SE PROPORCIONA UN FILTRO DE RAYOS X QUE REDUCE DE MANERA IMPORTANTE LA RADIACION DE BAJA ENERGIA NORMALMENTE ABSORBIDA POR PARTE DEL OBJETO DE EXAMEN SIN AFECTAR DE MANERA IMPORTANTE LA RADIACION DESEADA DE ELEVADA ENERGIA. EL FILTRO ESTA CONSTITUIDO POR UNO O MAS MATERIALES QUE CONTIENEN, COMO COMPONENTE PRINCIPAL, ELEMENTOS SELECCIONADOS DEL GRUPO QUE CONSISTE EN ALUMINIO Y ELEMENTOS CON NUMERO ATOMICOS ENTRE 26 Y 50, SELECCIONANDOSE ELFILTRO PARA QUE TENGA CARACTERISTICAS DE FIALTRACION DE RAYOS X DE TAL MANERA QUE LA INTENSIDAD DE LOS RAYOS X CON ENERGIAS DE 50 KEV SE REDUCEN EN APROXIMADAMENTE 8% A APROXIMADAMENTE 35% RESPECTO DE LOS NIVELES DE RADIACION NORMALES. COMO RESULTADO DE LA CONSTRUCCION ANTES COMENTADA, EL FILTRO DEL PRESENTE INVENTO FILTRA ENERGIA PROCEDENTE DEL HAZ DE RAYOS X QUE HABITUALMENTE ES ABSORBIDA POR PARTE DEL OBJETO DEL EXAMEN Y QUE NO CONTRIBUYE A LA IMAGEN RADIOGRAFICA DEL OBJETO DE EXAMEN. ESTO SE CONSIGUE, EN TODO CASO, CON UNA PEQUEÑA CARGA INCREMENTADA DELTUBO DE RAYOS X QUE, DE LO CONTRARIO, REDUCIRIA SU VIDA EFICAZ.
