Abstract

The method allows the production of groups of plates or grids for negative electrodes from metal mesh, especially from copper or titanium, which are mechanically and electrically connected, for electrical lead-acid accumulators. Each of these plates or grids is provided on one side with a corresponding rib or connecting tab, which is designed integrally with the plate or the grid. In order to form a group of plates or grids, the ribs or connecting tabs are mechanically and electrically connected to one another by means of an element or a link consisting of electrically conductive material, such as lead, which is produced by means of casting in a mould or chill in which the ribs or connecting tabs of the plates are arranged correctly.
