Abstract
The extruded plastic pipe is characterized by an electrically conducting layer (3), onto which a thin outer layer (5) of plastic is extruded as a dielectric. The electrically conducting layer may be a metal foil (3), for example of aluminium, which has a lamination of plastic on both sides, serving as a coupling agent. The conducting layer may also be an extruded-on layer (13) of a soot-filled thermoplastic, onto which the thin outer skin (5) of plastic is superimposed. The plastic pipe can be used for antistatic pipe systems or for heating and keeping warm the medium carried in it by applying a low-voltage current to the electrically conducting layer.
