OBTENCION DE AZUFRE ELEMENTAL A PARTIR DE UN MINERAL DE SULFURO DE HIERRO, QUE COMPRENDE LA LIXIVIACION ACIDA, OXIDANTE, DEL MINERAL PULVERIZADO, EN VISTA A LA EXTRACCION DEL AZUFRE. LA PULPA OBTENIDA AL FINAL DE LA LIXIVIACION, ES TRATADA, EN CALIENTE, CON UN SOLVENTE ORGANICO DEL AZUFRE, TENIENDO EL SOLVENTE UNA DENSIDAD SUPERIOR A 1, PARA SEPARAR ESTA PULPA EN UNA FASE ACUOSA QUE CONTIENE EN SOLUCION LOS METALES NO FERREOS, CUYOS SULFATOS SON HIDROSOLUBLES, Y EN UNA SUSPENSION DEL SOLIDO DE LA PULPA EN UNA FASE ORGANICA QUE CONSISTE EN UNA SOLUCION DEL AZUFRE EN EL SOLVENTE SEPARADA POR DECANTACION, Y, DESPUES DE SEPARACION DEL SOLIDO EN SUSPENSION EN LA FASE ORGANICA, EL AZUFRE ES RECUPERADO POR CRISTALIZACION DESPUES DE ENFRIAMIENTO DE LA FASE ORGANICA.
