A protective cover of the foot comprising a pair of superposed upper and lower flat sheets, having curved peripheral edges, which define a surface superior to approximately 30 to 100 percent of that defined by the foot profile of the user; said upper sheet being formed in an essentially non-porous elastomer with a high degree of elongation, this being at least 300 percent, and said lower sheet being formed in a tenacious, porous and moisture-resistant material; the parts of the peripheral edges of said sheets being hermetically welded together to define a space between said leaves in order to receive the foot of the user; said upper sheet having an opening for inserting the user's foot into said space; presenting said opening when said upper sheet is not subjected to tension a surface less than one tenth of the surface defined by the profile of said superimposed sheets.
