Definitions
- the present application describes silicone-free hair care products which contain trimethylglycine, an ester quat and mono-, di- and triglycerides of vegetable oils in a cosmetic carrier, and their use for improving hair care.
- Hair care products in a wide variety of embodiments are known per se and are commercially available. A majority of these products include silicones because they impart multiple conditioning benefits to hair.
- DE 102018202803 discloses silicone and/or mineral oil-free hair conditioning products which contain trimethylglycine, amidoamines and specific ester quats and which give wet and dry hair improved combability, detangling and shine properties and a softer hair feel.
- Ri, R2 are identical or different and stand for a Ci-C4-alkyl radical
- Re is an acyl radical of an at least monounsaturated carboxylic acid having a carbon chain length of 18 to 24 carbon atoms or the acyl radical of isostearic acid, and
- X- is a halide, methyl sulfate, ethyl sulfate, maleate, fumarate, oxalate, tartrate, citrate, lactate or acetate ion, and
- (b2) contains mono-, di- and triglycerides of vegetable oils.
- the hair care products according to the invention ensure an excellent balance between hair care and protection of the hair fibers.
- excellent care effects such as improved combability, hair feel and increased hair volume could be achieved by using the hair care products according to the invention in wet and dry hair, without high amounts of active ingredient and/or the use of silicones being necessary.
- the use of the hair care preparations according to the invention made it possible to increase the resistance of hair to physical damage (for example caused by combing and/or blow drying).
- the improved biodegradability compared to products containing silicone represents a further advantage of the hair care products according to the invention, since they contain a predominant proportion of active ingredients from sustainable sources.
- a cosmetic carrier is understood as meaning an aqueous, an alcoholic or an aqueous-alcoholic carrier.
- such carriers are to be understood, for example, as creams, emulsions, gels, pastes, but also foaming solutions containing surfactants such as shampoos, foam aerosols, foam formulations or other preparations which are suitable for use on the hair.
- An aqueous carrier is preferred according to the invention and preferably comprises 50-95% by weight of water, based on the hair care product as a whole.
- the hair care products according to the invention contain trimethylglycine (INCI name: Betaine) as the first essential ingredient.
- Trimethylglycine is a well-known amino acid derivative for use in cosmetics, available from natural sources such as sugar beet molasses. It is commercially available, for example, from Evonik under the name Tego® Natural Betaine and is used as a humectant in preparations for skin treatment and as a setting agent in hair care products.

Abstract
Description
.Silikonfreies Haarkonditioniermittel'
Besonders geeignet sind daher Amidoamine gemäß Formel (I), worin
