Definitions

  • the invention relates to an application method for coating different partial areas, preferably different steep partial areas, of an object, e.g. B. one or more motor vehicle body parts, with an applicator that is a mixture of a first application agent (e.g. a horizontal application agent, in particular horizontal paint) and a second application agent (e.g. a vertical application agent, in particular Vertical paint) applied to the object, especially the partial areas.
  • a first application agent e.g. a horizontal application agent, in particular horizontal paint
  • a second application agent e.g. a vertical application agent, in particular Vertical paint
  • Applicators are known from the prior art (eg WO 2010/046064 A1) with which it is technically possible to coat object surfaces on motor vehicle body parts without atomization of the application agent and thus in particular without overspray.
  • Special application agents can be used for this, e.g. paints, adhesives, sealants, pre-treatment agents, etc. Since the application agents are not applied in an atomized manner, the composition of the application agent layer corresponds to that of the application agent that has not yet been applied.
  • a predominantly horizontally oriented surface and a predominantly vertically oriented surface are to be coated on an object
  • two different application agents are used for this according to the prior art, which differ, among other things, in their viscosity.
  • a change of application agent is usually carried out by means of a so-called color changer.
  • an application agent which has been optimized for a horizontal surface and has a relatively low viscosity
  • an application agent is used that has been optimized for a vertical surface and has a relatively high viscosity (“vertical application agent”) so that it does not run off the vertical surface.
  • a higher viscosity results in poorer application agent flow.
  • the coating result on an e.g A surface inclined at an angle of 45° to the horizontal will be optically worse than absolutely necessary (especially with regard to flow properties), since a horizontal application agent is not suitable for the e.g. 45° inclination and therefore a vertical application agent must be used that but is also not optimal for the 45° inclination.
  • a disadvantage is, for example, that due to the higher viscosity of the vertical application agent, a poorer coating result is to be expected, in particular poorer application agent flow.
  • Another disadvantage is, for example, that a Appliqué change from horizontal appliqué to vertical al-application agent or vice versa with a loss of time and material loss.
  • a coating object such as a motor vehicle body, for example.

Description

BESCHREIBUNG
