Abstract
Verfahren zur katalytischen Hydrierung von aromatischen Aminen, vorzugsweise umfassend Methylendianilin und/oder Toluylendiamin, zu seinen ringhydrierten Entsprechungen, umfassend das Inkontaktbringen eines die aromatische Amine umfassenden Einsatzproduktes, welches Verunreinigungen, wie insbesondere Alkohole, Glykole, Polyole, organisch Säuren und/oder Wasser umfasst, mit Wasserstoff in der Gegenwart eines Katalysators, vorzugsweise umfassend Platin, Palladium, Rhodium, Ruthenium, Nickel, Cobalt und/oder Eisen, welcher auf einem Träger aufgebracht ist, wobei das aromatische Amine umfassende Einsatzprodukt aus einem PU-Zersetzungsprozess resultiert und Verunreinigungen aus diesem Zersetzungsprozess enthält.
Description
Hydrierung von aromatischen Aminen aus PU-Zersetzungsprozessen
Die Erfindung liegt auf dem Gebiet der Amine und des Polyurethanrecyclings. Insbesondere wird ein Verfahren zur katalytischen Hydrierung aromatischer Amine, wie Methylendianilin und Toluylendiamin oder deren Mischungen, beschrieben, wobei diese Amine aus Polyurethan- Zersetzungsverfahren resultieren und Restunreinheiten aus diesem Verfahren enthalten.
Polyurethane finden aufgrund ihrer hervorragenden mechanischen und physikalischen Eigenschaften in den verschiedensten Bereichen Verwendung. Einen besonders wichtigen Markt für verschiedenste Typen von Polyurethanen stellt der Bereich der Polyurethanschäume dar. Als Polyurethane (PU) werden im Sinne dieser Erfindung alle Reaktionsprodukte ausgehend von Iso- cyanaten, insbesondere von Polyisocyanaten, und entsprechend isocyanat-reaktiven Molekülen, insbesondere Polyolen, verstanden. Dies umfasst unter anderem auch Polyisocyanurate, Polyharnstoffe sowie Allophanat-, Biuret-, Uretdion-, Uretimin- oder Carbodiimid-enthaltende Isocyanat- oder Polyisocyanat-Reaktionsprodukte.
Polyurethane sind weltweit inzwischen so weit verbreitet, dass auch bei diesen Stoffen eine Wiederverwertung immer wichtiger wird. Im Stand der Technik existieren daher bereits unterschiedliche Zersetzungsverfahren zur Verwertung von Polyurethan-Abfällen. Die bekannten chemischen Verfahren wie die Hydrolyse z.B. beschrieben in US 5,208,379, Glykolyse, Acidolyse, Aminolyse, Hydrogenolyse, Solvolyse und ähnliche Verfahren zielen auf eine Depolymerisation auf molekularer Ebene ab.
Im Rahmen von solchen Polyurethan-Zersetzungsprozessen fallen auch aromatische Amine an, welche üblicherweise auch noch Verunreinigungen umfassen, die aus dem Zersetzungsprozess stammen, wie z.B. Alkohole, Glykole, Polyole, organische Säuren, tertiäre Amine, quartäre Amine, Aldehyde und/oder Wasser.
Es besteht ein Bedarf daran, entsprechende, aromatische Amine, wie Methylendianilin und/oder Toluylendiamin, enthaltendes Ausgangsmaterial, das aus Polyurethan-Zersetzungsprozessen resultiert und das mit den Nebenprodukten aus dem Zersetzungsverfahren kontaminiert ist, optimal zu verwerten. Insbesondere wird angestrebt, aus solchen kontaminierten, aber kostengünstigen Ausgangsmaterialen aliphatische Amine zu gewinnen.
Diese Aufgabe wird gelöst vom Gegenstand der Erfindung. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Verfahren zur katalytischen Hydrierung von aromatischen Aminen, vorzugsweise umfassend Methylendianilin und/oder Toluylendiamin, zu seinen ringhydrierten Entsprechungen, umfassend das Inkontaktbringen eines die aromatische Amine umfassenden Einsatzproduktes, welches bis zu 25 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise bis zu 15 Gew.%, weiter bevorzugt bis zu 10 Gew.%, besonders bevorzugt bis zu 5 Gew.-% an Verunreinigungen, wie insbesondere Alkohole, Glykole, Polyole, organische Säuren, tertiäre Amine, quartäre Amine, Aldehyde und/oder Wasser umfasst, Gew.-% bezogen auf
das die aromatischen Amine, vorzugsweise Methylendianilin und/oder Toluylendiamin, umfassende Einsatzprodukt, mit Wasserstoff in der Gegenwart eines Katalysators, vorzugsweise umfassend Platin, Palladium, Rhodium, Ruthenium, Nickel, Cobalt und/oder Eisen, insbesondere Rhodium und/oder Ruthenium, welcher auf einem Festbett-Träger aufgebracht ist, wobei das aromatische Amine umfassende Einsatzprodukt aus einem Polyurethan-Zersetzungsprozess resultiert und Verunreinigungen aus diesem Zersetzungsprozess enthält.
Das die aromatischen Amine, vorzugsweise Methylendianilin und/oder Toluylendiamin, umfassende Einsatzprodukt, enthält also > 75 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise > 85 Gew.-%, weiter bevorzugt > 90 Gew.-%, besonders bevorzugt > 95 Gew.-%, insbesondere > 98 Gew.-% aromatische Amine, vorzugsweise umfassend Methylendianilin und/oder Toluylendiamin, sowie < 25 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise < 15 Gew.%, weiter bevorzugt < 10 Gew.%, besonders bevorzugt < 5 Gew.-%, insbesondere < 2 Gew.-% an Verunreinigungen, wie insbesondere Alkohole, Glykole, Polyole, organische Säuren, tertiäre Amine, quartäre Amine, Aldehyde und/oder Wasser. Eine Untergrenze für diese Verunreinigungen kann vorzugsweise bei Werten wie z.B. bei 0,01 Gew.-%, wie z.B. bei 0,1 Gew.-%, wie z.B. bei 1 Gew.-%, z.B. bei 3 Gew.-%, z.B. bei 5 Gew.-%, z.B. bei 10 Gew.-%, z.B. bei 15 Gew.-% oder z.B. bei 20 Gew.-% liegen. Eine Obergrenze für die aromatischen Amine, vorzugsweise Methylendianilin und/oder Toluylendiamin, kann vorzugsweise bei Werten wie z.B. bei 99,99 Gew.-%, wie z.B. bei 99,9 Gew.-%, wie z.B. bei 99 Gew.-%, z.B. bei 97 Gew.-%, z.B. bei 95 Gew.-%, z.B. bei 90 Gew.-%, z.B. bei 85 Gew.-%, oder z.B. bei 80 Gew.-% liegen. Gew.-% sind jeweils bezogen auf das die aromatischen Amine, vorzugsweise Methylendianilin und/oder Toluylendiamin, umfassende Einsatzprodukt.
Dieser Gegenstand geht mit einigen Vorteilen einher. Es wird ermöglicht, ein kostengünstiges und zirkuläres Methylendianilin oder Toluylendiamin-haltiges Ausgangsmaterial zu hydrieren, das zudem mit Nebenprodukten aus PU-Zersetzungsverfahren kontaminiert ist. Das Katalysatorsystem kann über einen längeren Zeitraum wiederverwendet werden. Die bei der katalytischen Hydrierung von aromatischen Aminen erhältlichen cycloaliphatischen Amine, wie unsubstituierte oder substituierte Cyclohexylamine und Dicyclohexylamine, können Verwendung finden bei der Herstellung von Polyamid- und Polyurethanharzen, als Härter für Epoxidharze sowie als Rohstoffe zur Herstellung von Kunststoff- und Kautschukadditiven sowie Korrosionsinhibitoren.
Aus EP1604972A1 ist ein Verfahren zur Hydrierung von Methylendianilin bereits bekannt. Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Erfindung konnte überraschend gefunden werden, dass eine solche Technologie auch auf die verunreinigten aromatischen Amine aus PU-Zersetzungsverfahren in besonders vorteilhafter Weise angewendet werden kann.
In dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren wird ein Katalysator, vorzugsweise umfassend Platin, Palladium, Rhodium, Ruthenium, Nickel, Cobalt und/oder Eisen, bevorzugt umfassend Rhodium und/oder Ruthenium, insbesondere Ruthenium, eingesetzt, welcher auf einem Träger aufgebracht ist.
Besonders bevorzugt ist der Einsatz von Rhodium und/oder Ruthenium. Dies entspricht einer besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung. In einer weiteren ganz besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform wird Ruthenium ohne Rhodium eingesetzt.
Eine weitere ganz besonders bevorzugte Ausführungsform der Erfindung liegt vor, wenn als Katalysator Ruthenium eingesetzt wird, welches auf Aluminiumoxid (AI2O3) aufgebracht ist. Aluminiumoxid ist ein klassische Trägermaterial und als solches Trägermaterial auch kommerziell erhältlich. Entsprechende Katalysatoren sind z.B. als Noblyst® bei der Firma Evonik kommerziell erhältlich. Entsprechend auf Aluminiumoxid geträgertes Ruthenium führt zu ganz besonders vorteilhaften Ergebnissen im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung.
Wenn im Sinne der vorgenannten bevorzugten Ausführungsform das Gewichtsverhältnis von Ruthenium zu Aluminiumoxid 4 bis 25 Gewichtsteile Ruthenium pro 100 Gewichtsteile Aluminiumoxid beträgt, so liegt eine weitere bevorzugte Ausführungsform der Erfindung vor. Der Einsatz von Ruthenium ohne Rhodium, wie zuvor beschrieben, ist ganz besonders bevorzugt.
Es können im Rahmen einer anderen bevorzugten Ausführungsform davon abweichend allerdings auch Rhodium und Ruthenium zusammen eingesetzt werden.
Wenn Rhodium und Ruthenium eingesetzt werden, was bevorzugt ist, dann beträgt das Gewichtsverhältnis von Rhodium zu Ruthenium insbesondere 0,01 bis 20 Teile Rhodium pro Teil Ruthenium.
Der Katalysator bzw. das Katalysatorsystem umfasst in einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung also Rhodium und Ruthenium und vorzugsweise besteht das Katalysatorsystem aus einer physikalischen Mischung dieser beiden Komponenten. Insbesondere ist das Katalysatorsystem ein physikalisches Gemisch von Rhodium auf einem Festbett-Träger, vorzugsweise Lithiumaluminat, und Ruthenium auf einem Festbett-Träger, vorzugsweise Lithiumaluminat. Dies entspricht einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung.
Wenn Rhodium in dem Katalysatorsystem vorzugsweise in einer Menge von 0,01 bis 25 Gewichtsteilen Rhodium pro 100 Gewichtsteile Träger, vorzugsweise 0,02 bis 8 Gewichtsteile Rhodium pro 100 Gewichtsteile Träger, vorhanden ist, so entspricht dies einer weiteren bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung.
Wenn das Gewichtsverhältnis von Rhodium zu Ruthenium in dem Katalysatorsystem 0,03 bis 15 Gewichtsteile Rhodium pro Gewichtsteil Ruthenium beträgt, so liegt wiederum eine bevorzugte Ausführungsform der Erfindung vor.
Die Katalysatoren, insbesondere Rhodium und/oder Ruthenium, können dem Träger z.B. entweder durch Nass-Imprägnierung oder z.B. durch Ausfällung in Gegenwart einer Base in Wasser zugesetzt
werden. Bevorzugte Basen wären LiOH, U2CO3 oder Na2CC>3. Das vorzugsweise aus Rhodium, Ruthenium und dem Träger bestehende Katalysatorsystem wird vorteilhafterweise getrocknet und insbesondere auf eine Temperatur von < 400°C erhitzt. Der Träger für den Katalysator, insbesondere Rhodium- und/oder Ruthenium, ist vorzugsweise ein Lithiumaluminat-Träger, insbesondere Spinell LiAlsOs. Das ist eine bekannte Zusammensetzung und als Träger für Katalysatorsysteme bekannt. Dies entspricht einer weiteren bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung. Weitere mögliche Träger sind z.B. Aluminiumoxid und andere Metalloxidträger.
Der Träger kann vorzugsweise durch ein Lösungsverfahren hergestellt werden, bei dem ein wässriges Lithiumsalz als Lösung mit Aluminiumoxid, Siliziumdioxid, Zirkoniumoxid oder Titandioxid gemischt werden, gefolgt von Trocknen und Kalzinieren typischerweise in Luft. Die Kalzinierung erfolgt vorzugsweise bei Temperaturen im Bereich von 500 bis 1500°C, insbesondere von etwa 700 bis 1000°C, um sicherzustellen, dass man die Zusammensetzung LiAlsOs erhält.
Die typische Kalzinierung erfordert vorzugsweise mindestens 5 Stunden, insbesondere 10 bis 25 Stunden. Bei der Formulierung des Lithiumaluminium-Trägers wird der Gehalt an Lithiumsalz vorzugsweise so gesteuert, dass ein Atomverhältnis des Lithium/Aluminium-Verhältnisses von 0,2 bis 1 ,5 bis 5 bereitgestellt werden kann.
Wenn das Gewichtsverhältnis von Ruthenium zu Lithiumaluminat 2 bis 8 Gewichtsteile Ruthenium pro 100 Gewichtsteile Lithiumaluminat beträgt, so liegt eine bevorzugte Ausführungsform der Erfindung vor.
Wie bei herkömmlichen Verfahren kann die erfindungsgemäße Hydrierung vorzugsweise unter Flüssigphasenbedingungen durchgeführt werden. Flüssigphasenbedingungen werden typischerweise durch Ausführen der Hydrierung in Gegenwart eines Lösungsmittels bewirkt. Obwohl es auch möglich ist, die Reaktion in Abwesenheit eines Lösungsmittels durchzuführen, ist die Verarbeitung gewöhnlich viel einfacher, wenn ein Lösungsmittel verwendet wird. Bevorzugte Lösungsmittel, die zur Durchführung der erfindungsgemäßen Hydrierung geeignet sind, umfassen gesättigte aliphatische und/oder alicyclische Kohlenwasserstoffe wie Cyclohexan, Hexan und/oder Cyclooctan; niedermolekulare Alkohole wie Methanol, Ethanol und/oder Isopropanol; und/oder aliphatische und/oder alicyclische Kohlenwasserstoffether, wie n-Propylether, Isopropylether, n-Butylether, Amyl- ether, Tetrahydrofuran, Dioxan und/oder Dicyclohexylether. Tetrahydrofuran ist das bevorzugteste Lösungsmittel.
Am meisten bevorzugt im Sinne dieser Erfindung ist es, wenn der Katalysator Ruthenium ist und der Träger Aluminiumoxid ist, und wenn die Hydrierung in Gegenwart von Lösungsmittel durchgeführt wird. Dies entspricht einer ganz besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung. Falls bei
der Hydrierung Lösungsmittel eingesetzt wird, so können ein oder mehrere Lösungsmittel eingesetzt werden.
Wenn Lösungsmittel verwendet wird, kann es vorzugsweise in Mengen ab 100 Gewichtsteilen verwendet werden, bezogen auf 100 Gewichtsteile des in die Reaktion eingebrachten aromatischen Amins, und vorzugsweise wird das Lösungsmittel in Mengen von etwa 200 bis etwa 600 Gewichtsteile bezogen auf 100 Gewichtsteile des in die Reaktion eingebrachten aromatischen Amins verwendet.
Der Reaktionstemperaturbereich in dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren liegt vorzugsweise zwischen 130 und 210 °C, insbesondere zwischen 170 und 200 °C.
Es entspricht einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung, wenn in dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren der Hydrierdruck 1 ,48 MPa bis 27,68 MPa beträgt.
Die Reaktionszeit in dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren variiert in Abhängigkeit von der Menge an Verunreinigungen des zu hydrierenden Ausgangsmaterials, reicht jedoch vorzugsweise von einer Stunde bis zu mehreren Tagen.
Die Katalysatorgehalte in dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren können vorzugsweise im Bereich von 0,5 bis 5 Gew.-% des zu hydrierenden Ausgangsmaterials liegen, d. h. der zu hydrierenden aromatischen Amine.
Erfindungsgemäß resultiert das aromatische Amine umfassende Einsatzprodukt aus einem Polyurethan-Zersetzungsprozess und enthält Verunreinigungen aus diesem Zersetzungsprozess. Die aromatischen Aminen umfassen insbesondere Methylendianilin und/oder dessen Oligomere und/oder Toluylendiamin. Toluylendiamin umfasst insbesondere 2,4- oder 2,6-Toluylendiamin oder beliebige Gemische dieser Isomeren. Methylendianilin umfasst insbesondere 4,4'-Diamin- odiphenylmethan, 2,2'-Diaminodiphenylmethan oder 2,4'-Diaminodiphenylmethan oder beliebige Gemische dieser Isomeren.
Der Polyurethan-Zersetzungsprozess kann ein beliebiger sein, welcher sich der bekannten chemischen Verfahren wie die Hydrolyse z.B. beschrieben in US 5,208,379, Glykolyse, Acidolyse, Aminolyse, Hydrogenolyse, Solvolyse oder ähnlicher Verfahren auf übliche Weise bedient.
Überraschenderweise konnten im Rahmen der vorliegenden Erfindung entsprechend einer besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung allerdings gefunden werden, dass das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren zur katalytischen Hydrierung sich dann ganz besonders gut bewährt, wenn das aromatische Amine umfassende Einsatzprodukt aus einem PU-Zersetzungsprozess resultiert, welcher auf einer Hydrolyse beruht, insbesondere folgende Schritte umfasst:
a) Depolymerisation eines Polyurethans durch Hydrolyse in Gegenwart einer Base und eines Katalysators, welcher aus der Gruppe bestehend aus quartären Ammoniumsalzen enthaltend ein Ammonium-Kation umfassend 6 bis 30 Kohlenstoff-Atome und organischen Sulfonaten enthaltend wenigstens 7 Kohlenstoffatome gewählt ist, bei Temperaturen vorzugsweise unter 200°C unter Erzeugung aromatischer Amine, b) Abtrennung der organischen Phase, umfassend die aromatischen Amine, von der wässrigen Phase, c) Optional vorzugsweise mandatorisch Abtrennung des aromatischen Amins von der organischen Phase, vorzugsweise destillativ oder durch Extraktionsprozesse, d) optional, vorzugsweise mandatorisch, Wiederverwendung der abgetrennten wässrige Phase bei der Depolymerisation eines Polyurethans durch Hydrolyse gemäß Schritt a).
Da es sich bei dem zuvor genannten, besonders bevorzugten PU-Zersetzungsprozess, der einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung entspricht, um eine Hydrolyse handelt, resultiert bei der Zersetzung des Polyurethans ein 2-Phasengemisch, umfassend eine wässrige und eine organische Phase. Die organische Phase beinhaltet die später zu hydrierenden aromatischen Amine sowie Verunreinigungen. Der Katalysator kann dabei ein quartäres Ammoniumsalz enthaltend ein Ammonium-Kation umfassend 6 bis 30 Kohlenstoff-Atome oder ein organisches Sulfonat enthaltend wenigstens 7 Kohlenstoffatome sein.
Die entsprechenden, bevorzugten Hydrolyseprozesse von PU-Materialien werden z.B. beschrieben in den noch unveröffentlichten europäischen Patentanmeldungen mit den Aktenzeichen 20192354.7 (bzw. W02022/042909A1 ) oder 20192364.6 (bzw. W02022/042910A1).
Die Aufarbeitung kann durch Phasentrennung mit üblichen Methoden erfolgen. Wird keine Phasentrennung durchgeführt, kann die organische Phase auch durch Extraktion abgetrennt werden.
Ein besonderer Vorteil des Verfahrens ist es, dass die abgetrennte wässrige Phase erneut bei der der Depolymerisation eines Polyurethans durch Hydrolyse gemäß Schritt a) eingesetzt werden kann, insbesondere ohne weiter aufbereitet zu werden.
Nach der Abtrennung der organischen Phase, umfassend die aromatischen Amine, können diese aus der organischen Phase gewonnen werden, beispielsweise abdestilliert werden.
Im Folgenden wird eine besonders bevorzugte Variante, hier bevorzugte Variante 1 genannt, der Depolymerisation beschrieben.
Insbesondere ist es bevorzugt, wenn die Depolymerisation des Polyurethans in Schritt a) unter Einsatz einer Base mit einem pKb Wert bei 25°C von 1 bis 10, vorzugsweise 1 bis 8, weiter bevorzugt 1 bis 7, insbesondere 1 ,5 bis 6, und eines Katalysators, welcher aus der Gruppe bestehend aus (i)
quartären Ammoniumsalzen enthaltend ein Ammonium-Kation umfassend 6 bis 30 Kohlenstoff- Atome und (ii) organischen Sulfonaten enthaltend wenigstens 7 Kohlenstoffatome gewählt ist, erfolgt. Dies entspricht einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung.
Bevorzugte Basen umfassen ein Alkalimetallkation und/oder ein Ammoniumkation. Bevorzugte Basen sind hierbei Alkalimetallphosphate, Alkalimetallhydrogenphosphate, Alkalimetallcarbonate, Alkalimetallsilicate, Alkalimetallhydrogencarbonate, Alkalimetallacetate, Alkalimetallsulfite, Ammoniumhydroxide oder Mischungen vorgenannter. Bevorzugte Alkalimetalle sind dabei Na, K oder Li oder Mischungen vorgenannter, insbesondere Na oder K oder deren Mischungen; bevorzugtes Ammoniumkation ist NhV.
Besonders bevorzugte Basen sind K2CO3, Na2SiC>3, NH4OH, K3PO4, oder KOAc.
Bevorzugt wird die Base als gesättigte alkalische Lösung in Wasser eingesetzt, wobei das Gewichtsverhältnis von gesättigter alkalischer Lösung zum PU im Bereich von vorzugsweise 0,5 bis 25, bevorzugt 0,5 bis 15, weiter bevorzugt 1 bis 10 insbesondere 2 bis 7 liegt.
Bevorzugte quartäre Ammoniumsalze haben die allgemeine Struktur: Ri R2 R3 R4 NX mit
R1.R2.R3, und R4 gleich oder unterschiedlich Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen gewählt von Alkyl, Aryl und/oder Arylalkyl, wobei Ri bis R4 vorzugsweise so gewählt sind, dass die Summe der Kohlenstoffatome des quartären Ammoniumkations 6 bis 14, vorzugsweise 7 bis 14, insbesondere 8 bis 13 beträgt.
X ist gewählt aus Halogenid, vorzugsweise Chlorid und/oder Bromid, Hydrogensulfat, Alkylsulfat, vorzugsweise Methylsulfat oder Ethylsulfat, Carbonat, Hydrogencarbonat oder Carboxylat, vorzugsweise Acetat oder Hydroxid.
Ganz besonders bevorzugte quartäre Ammoniumsalze sind Tributylmethylammoniumchlorid, Tetrabutylammouniumhydrogensulfat, Benzyltrimethylammoniumchlorid, Tributylmethylammoniumchlorid und/oder Trioctylmethylammoniummethylsulfat. Dies sind die am meisten bevorzugten Katalysatoren.
Das ebenfalls als Katalysator einsetzbare organische Sulfonat enthaltend wenigstens 7 Kohlenstoffatome umfasst vorzugsweise Alkylarylsulfonate, alpha-olefin Sulfonate, Petroleum-Sulfonate und/oder Naphthalen-Sulfonate.
Bevorzugte Temperaturen für die Depolymerisation betragen 80° C bis 200° C, vorzugsweise 90° C bis 180° C, weiter bevorzugt 95° C bis 170° C und insbesondere 100°C bis 160°C.
Bevorzugte Reaktionszeiten für die Depolymerisation betragen 1 Minute bis 14 h, vorzugsweise 10 Minuten bis 12 h, bevorzugt 20 Minuten bis 11 h und insbesondere 30 Minuten bis 10 h.
Bevorzugt werden bei der Depolymerisation mindestens 0,5 Gew.-% Katalysator eingesetzt, bezogen auf das Gewicht des Polyurethans, vorzugsweise 0,5 bis 15 Gew.-%, weiter bevorzugt 1 bis 10 Gew.-%, noch weiter bevorzugt 1 bis 8 Gew.-%, wieder weiter bevorzugt 1 bis 7 Gew.-% und insbesondere 2 bis 6 Gew.-%.
Ein bevorzugtes Gewichtsverhältnis Base zu Polyurethan liegt im Bereich von 0,01 bis 50, vorzugsweise 0,1 bis 25, insbesondere 0,5 bis 20.
Dies betraf die bevorzugte Variante 1 der Depolymerisation.
Im Folgenden wird noch eine weitere besonders bevorzugt Variante, hier bevorzugte Variante 2 genannt, der Depolymerisation beschrieben.
Wenn die Depolymerisation des Polyurethans in Schritt a) unter Einsatz einer Base mit einem pKb Wert bei 25°C von < 1 , vorzugsweise 0,5 bis -2, bevorzugt 0,25 bis -1 ,5 insbesondere 0 bis -1 , eines Katalysators aus der Gruppe der quartären Ammoniumsalze enthaltend ein Ammonium-Kation mit 6 bis 14 Kohlenstoff-Atomen, sofern das Ammonium-Kation keinen Benzylrest umfasst, oder aber enthaltend ein Ammonium-Kation mit 6 bis 12 Kohlenstoff-Atomen, sofern das Ammonium-Kation einen Benzylrest umfasst, erfolgt, so liegt eine weitere bevorzugte Ausführungsform der Erfindung vor.
Bevorzugte Basen sind hierbei Alkalimetallhydroxide, Alkalimetalloxide, Erdalkalimetallhydroxide, Alkalimetalloxide oder deren Mischungen. Bevorzugte Alkalimetalle sind dabei Na, K oder Li oder Mischungen vorgenannter, insbesondere Na oder K oder deren Mischungen; bevorzugte Erdalkalimetall sind Be, Mg, Ca, Sr oder Ba oder deren Mischungen, bevorzugt Mg oder Ca oder deren Mischungen. Eine ganz besonders bevorzugte Base ist NaOH.
Bevorzugte quartäre Ammoniumsalze haben die allgemeine Struktur: Ri R2 R3 R4 NX mit
Ri , R2, R3, und R4 gleich oder unterschiedlich Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen gewählt von Alkyl, Aryl und Arylalkyl.
X ist gewählt aus Halogenid, vorzugsweise Chlorid und/oder Bromid, Hydrogensulfat, Alkylsulfat, vorzugsweise Methylsulfat oder Ethylsulfat, Carbonat, Hydrogencarbonat, Car- boxylat, vorzugsweise Acetat oder Hydroxid.
Besonders bevorzugte quartäre Ammoniumsalze sind hierbei Benzyltrimethylammoniumchlorid oder Tributylmethylammoniumchlorid.
Bevorzugte Temperaturen für die Depolymerisation betragen 80° C bis 200° C, vorzugsweise 90° C bis 180° C, weiter bevorzugt 95° C bis 170° C und insbesondere 100°C bis 160°C.
Bevorzugte Reaktionszeiten für die Depolymerisation betragen 1 Minute bis 14 h, vorzugsweise 10 Minuten bis 12 h, bevorzugt 20 Minuten bis 11 h und insbesondere 30 Minuten bis 10 h.
Bevorzugt werden bei der Depolymerisation zumindest 0,5 Gew.-% Katalysator eingesetzt, bezogen auf das Gewicht des Polyurethans, vorzugsweise 0,5 bis 15 Gew.-%, weiter bevorzugt 1 bis 10 Gew.-%, noch weiter bevorzugt 1 bis 8 Gew.-%, wieder weiter bevorzugt 1 bis 7 Gew.-% und insbesondere 2 bis 6 Gew.-%.
Ein bevorzugtes Gewichtsverhältnis Base zu Polyurethan liegt im Bereich von 0,01 bis 25, vorzugsweise 0,1 bis 15, bevorzugt 0,2 bis 10, insbesondere 0,5 bis 5.
Bevorzugt wird eine alkalische Lösung eingesetzt, umfassend Base und Wasser, wobei die Konzentration der Base vorzugsweise größer 5 Gew.-% ist, vorzugsweise 5 bis 70 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 5 bis 60 Gew.-%, weiter bevorzugt 10 bis 50 Gew.-%, noch weiter bevorzugt 15 bis 40 Gew.-%, insbesondere 20 bis 40 beträgt, bezogen auf das Gewicht der alkalischen Lösung.
Dies betraf die bevorzugte Variante 2 der Depolymerisation.
Das in dem PU-Zersetzungsprozess zu verwertende PU kann jedes PU-Produkt sein, insbesondere umfasst es einen Polyurethanschaum, vorzugsweise PU-Hartschaum, PU-Weichschaum, visko- elastischer PU-Schaum, HR-PU-Schaum, PU-Hypersoft-Schaum, halbharter PU-Schaum, thermoverformbarer PU-Schaum und/oder PU-lntegralschaum.
Beispiele:
Erfindunqsqemäßes Beispiel 1
Ein 1 L Hydrierautoklav mit Gaseintragsrührer wurde mit einer Mischung aus 121 ,7 g rezykliertes Toluylendiamin* und 278,6 g THF (INEOS, >99,9 % Reinheit) befüllt. Der Reaktor wurde durch dreifachen Druckwechsel mit Stickstoff inertisiert, woraufhin 3,48 g eines Rutheniumkatalysators (15 % Ru auf Aluminiumoxid) durch eine Schleuse zu der gerührten Lösung (1000 rpm) hinzugegeben wurden. Nach erneuter Inertisierung mittels Druckwechsel wurde der Reaktor mit 80 bar Wasserstoff (Evonik Operations GmbH, >99,95 % Reinheit) beaufschlagt.
Die Reaktion wurde gestartet, indem die Temperatur des Reaktors über einen Zeitraum von 90 Minuten auf 185 °C aufgeheizt wurde. In dieser Zeit stieg der Reaktordruck auf etwa 100 bar an. Dieser Druck wurde anschließend durch eine Wasserstoffregelung gehalten.
Es wurden nach 60, 180, 300 420 und 1380 min Proben durch ein Probenrohr aus der Reaktion genommen, ohne dabei die Reaktion zu unterbrechen. Die Proben wurden mittels Gaschromatographie untersucht. Die erreichten Umsätze und GC-Ausbeuten an Methylcyclohexyldiamine (MCDA) sind in Tabelle 1 dargestellt.
rezykliertes Toluylendiamin*:
Das rezyklierte Toluylendiamin resultierte aus einem PU-Zersetzungsprozess, welcher auf einer Hydrolyse beruhte, durchgeführt gemäß den Ansprüchen 12 und 13 (in Anlehnung an W02022042909A1). Das gemäß Anspruch 12 und 13 hergestellte Toluylendiamin hatte eine Reinheit von 96,9% (GC-%) (Hauptnebenkomponente: 0,82 % Polyol).
Erfindunqsqemäßes Beispiel 2
Ein 1 L Hydrierautoklav mit Gaseintragsrührer wurde mit einer Mischung aus 125,0 g rezykliertes Toluylendiamin* und 280,9 g THF (INEOS, >99,9 % Reinheit) befüllt. Der Reaktor wurde durch dreifachen Druckwechsel mit Stickstoff inertisiert, woraufhin 3,50 g eines Rutheniumkatalysators (15 % Ru auf Aluminiumoxid) durch eine Schleuse zu der gerührten Lösung (1000 rpm) hinzugegeben wurden. Nach erneuter Inertisierung mittels Druckwechsel wurde der Reaktor mit 80 bar Wasserstoff (Evonik Operations GmbH, >99,95 % Reinheit) beaufschlagt.

Das rezyklierte Toluylendiamin resultierte aus einem PU-Zersetzungsprozess, welcher auf einer Hydrolyse beruhte, durchgeführt gemäß den Ansprüchen 12 und 13 (in Anlehnung an W02022042909A1). Das gemäß Anspruch 12 und 13 hergestellte Toluylendiamin hatte eine Reinheit von 91 ,29% (Hauptnebenkomponenten: 0,79 % Polyol, 4,0 % Tributylamin).
Vergleichendes Beispiel 1
Ein 1 L Hydrierautoklav mit Gaseintragsrührher wurde mit einer Mischung aus 96,5 g 2,4- Diaminotoluol (Sigma-Aldrich, 98% Reinheit), 24,3 g 2,6-Diaminotoluol (Sigma-Aldrich, 97% Reinheit) und 281 ,2 g THF (INEOS, >99,9 % Reinheit) befüllt. Der Reaktor wurde durch dreifachen Druckwechsel mit Stickstoff inertisiert, woraufhin 3,51 g eines Rutheniumkatalysators (15 % Ru auf Aluminiumoxid) durch eine Schleuse zu der gerührten Lösung (1000 rpm) hinzugegeben wurden. Nach erneuter Inertisierung mittels Druckwechsel wurde der Reaktor mit 80 bar Wasserstoff (Evonik Operations GmbH, >99,95 % Reinheit) beaufschlagt.
Die Reaktion wurde gestartet, indem die Temperatur des Reaktors über einen Zeitraum von 90 Minuten auf 185 °C aufgeheizt wurde. In dieser Zeit stieg der Reaktordruck auf etwa 100 bar an. Claims
1. Verfahren zur katalytischen Hydrierung von aromatischen Aminen, vorzugsweise umfassend Methylendianilin und/oder Toluylendiamin, zu seinen ringhydrierten Entsprechungen, umfassend das Inkontaktbringen eines die aromatische Amine umfassenden Einsatzproduktes, welches bis zu 25 Gew.-% an Verunreinigungen, wie insbesondere Alkohole, Glykole, Polyole, organische Säuren, tertiäre Amine, quartäre Amine, Aldehyde und/oder Wasser umfasst, mit Wasserstoff in der Gegenwart eines Katalysators, vorzugsweise umfassend Platin, Palladium, Rhodium, Ruthenium, Nickel, Cobalt und/oder Eisen, ins- besondere Ruthenium, welcher auf einem Träger aufgebracht ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das aromatische Amine umfassende Einsatzprodukt aus einem Polyurethan- Zersetzungsprozess resultiert und Verunreinigungen aus diesem Zersetzungsprozess enthält.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Katalysator Rhodium und/oder Ruthenium umfasst, insbesondere wird Ruthenium als Katalysator eingesetzt.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass Rhodium und Ruthenium zusammen eingesetzt werden und das Gewichtsverhältnis von Rhodium zu Ruthenium 1 bis 20 Teile Rhodium pro Teil Ruthenium beträgt.
4. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Träger ein Lithiumaluminat-Träger ist.
5. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Gewichts- Verhältnis von Ruthenium zu Lithiumaluminat 2 bis 8 Gewichtsteile Ruthenium pro 100
Gewichtsteile Lithiumaluminat beträgt.
6. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Katalysatorsystem ein physikalisches Gemisch von Rhodium auf Lithiumaluminat und Ruthenium auf Lithiumaluminat ist.
7. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Gewichtsverhältnis von Rhodium zu Ruthenium in dem Katalysatorsystem 6 bis 15 Gewichtsteile Rhodium pro Gewichtsteil Ruthenium beträgt.
8. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Katalysator Ruthenium eingesetzt wird, welches auf Aluminiumoxid (AI2O3) aufgebracht ist.
9. Verfahren nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Gewichtsverhältnis von Ruthenium zu Aluminiumoxid 4 bis 25 Gewichtsteile Ruthenium pro 100 Gewichtsteile
Aluminiumoxid beträgt.
10. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Hydrierung in Gegenwart von Lösungsmittel durchgeführt wird, wobei Lösungsmittel vorzugsweise in Mengen ab 100 Gewichtsteilen verwendet werden, bezogen auf 100 Gewichtsteile des in die Reaktion eingebrachten aromatischen Amins, und vorzugsweise wird das Lösungsmittel in Mengen von etwa 200 bis etwa 600 Gewichtsteile bezogen auf 100 Gewichtsteile des in die
Reaktion eingebrachten aromatischen Amins verwendet.
11. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Hydrierdruck 1 ,48 MPa bis 27,68 MPa beträgt.
12. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 11 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Polyurethan-Zersetzungsprozess folgende Schritte umfasst: a) Depolymerisation eines Polyurethans durch Hydrolyse in Gegenwart einer Base und eines Katalysators, welcher aus der Gruppe bestehend aus quartären Ammoniumsalzen enthaltend ein Ammonium Kation umfassend 6 bis 30 Kohlenstoff- Atome und organischen Sulfonaten enthaltend wenigstens 7 Kohlenstoffatome gewählt ist, bei Temperaturen vorzugsweise unter 200°C unter Erzeugung von aromatischen Aminen, b) Abtrennung der organischen Phase, umfassend die aromatischen Amine, von der wässrigen Phase, c) Optional, vorzugsweise mandatorisch, Abtrennung des aromatischen Amins von der organischen Phase, vorzugsweise destillativ oder durch Extraktionsprozesse. d) optional, vorzugsweise mandatorisch, Wiederverwendung der abgetrennten wässrige Phase bei der Depolymerisation eines Polyurethans durch Hydrolyse gemäß Schritt a).
13. Verfahren nach Anspruch 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Depolymerisation des Polyurethans in Schritt a) unter Einsatz einer Base mit einem pKb Wert bei 25°C von 1 bis 10 und eines Katalysators, welcher aus der Gruppe bestehend aus quartären Ammoniumsalzen enthaltend ein Ammonium-Kation umfassend 6 bis 30 Kohlenstoff-Atome und organischen
Sulfonaten enthaltend wenigstens 7 Kohlenstoffatome gewählt ist, erfolgt.
14. Verfahren nach Anspruch 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Depolymerisation des Polyurethans in Schritt a) unter Einsatz einer Base mit einem pKb Wert bei 25°C von < 1 und eines Katalysators aus der Gruppe der quartären Ammoniumsalze enthaltend ein Ammonium- Kation mit 6 bis 14 Kohlenstoff-Atomen, sofern das Ammonium-Kation keinen Benzylrest umfasst, oder aber enthaltend ein Ammonium-Kation mit 6 bis 12 Kohlenstoff-Atomen, sofern das Ammonium-Kation einen Benzylrest umfasst, erfolgt.
15. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 14, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das im PU-
Zersetzungsprozess zu zersetzende Polyurethan einen Polyurethanschaum umfasst, vor-
zugsweise PU-Hartschaum, PU-Weichschaum, viskoelastischer PU-Schaum, HR-PU- Schaum, PU-Hypersoft-Schaum, halbharter PU-Schaum, thermoverformbarer PU-Schaum und/oder PU-lntegralschaum.
