Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and an associated device for operating an opening drive for a motor vehicle lock, in particular a motor vehicle door lock, with a locking mechanism consisting essentially of a rotary latch and a pawl, also with a sensor assigned to the rotary latch, and with a pawl directly or indirectly acting drive unit, after which the drive unit is controlled depending on the signal from the sensor.
- Motor vehicle locks and in particular motor vehicle door locks are increasingly designed as so-called electric locks for reasons of convenience and in this context have an electric motor opening drive.
- This makes opening the locking mechanism particularly easy.
- it is usually sufficient for the actuation of the drive unit to actuate a switch or sensor, for example on or in an outside door handle, whose query then acts on the drive unit in order to open the previously closed locking mechanism.
- the drive unit works directly or indirectly on the pawl.
- the pawl is lifted from its engagement with the rotary latch, so that the rotary latch then opens with spring support and releases a previously caught locking bolt.
- a door, flap or the like equipped with the relevant motor vehicle lock or motor vehicle door lock can also be opened. This has basically worked.
- DE 10 2005 052 665 A1 discloses a drive device for motorized adjustment of a functional element in a motor vehicle.
- the functional element can also be a pawl.
- work is being done, among other things, with a time window for energizing a drive motor.
- the time window is measured in such a way that, in the example, the pawl reliably reaches a so-called target position within the time window. As a result, an additional query of the rotary latch is not required.
- DE 10 2013 012 015 A1 relates to a motor vehicle lock which has a manual motor and an auxiliary motor. Both motors are set up to open the pawl.
- an opening signal can be derived from a sensor on the lock latch. The sensor is again an AJAR switch.
- This overtravel range essentially extends beyond the position of the pawl beyond the main catch.
- the pawl is nevertheless and to be on the safe side acted upon up to the overtravel range, i.e. even when the main catch and the first catch of the rotary latch have, for example, a locking tooth on the pawl have already happened.
- This procedure is ultimately necessary in order to avoid any interactions between the pawl and the rotary latch in any case and to ensure free opening of the rotary latch, i. H. seen an opening of the ratchet over its complete travel, without any interaction with the pawl.
- the prior art mainly proceeds in such a way that the pawl is moved into the overtravel range or is acted upon using the drive unit, mechanical braking of the drive unit must also be ensured, namely at the end of this movement.
- an end stop is usually assigned to the drive unit. Since the pawl is acted upon directly or indirectly at the end of its travel path, usually in the overtravel range, mostly load-free by means of the drive or the drive unit, the end stop is often approached by the drive unit at high speed. This means that an impact, for example, with a worm wheel as part of the drive unit, hits the said end stop. As a result, individual components of the drive unit can be damaged.
- the aforementioned worm wheel is made of plastic, as is its toothing.
- a worm which is located on an output shaft of the electric motor and which engages in the toothing of the worm wheel on the outer peripheral side. If the worm wheel hits the end stop hard, damage to the respective toothing (made of plastic) is possible or can occur, particularly over a long period of time. For this reason one often works with buffers in connection with the end stop.
- the invention is based on the technical problem of further developing such a method and an associated device for operating an opening drive for a motor vehicle lock in such a way that in particular mechanical loads on the drive unit are reduced compared to the previous procedure and an optimized noise behavior is observed.
- a generic method within the scope of the invention is characterized in that the sensor assigned to the rotary latch only generates a signal as soon as the rotary latch can be opened freely.
- the senor can be positioned opposite the rotary latch in such a way that all detents on the rotary latch are passed the ratchet on the pawl is secured. This is because the latching tooth of the pawl can then rest against a peripheral surface of the rotary latch without an interaction being observed.
- the drive unit can be braked and/or reversed.
- the free opening of the rotary latch in one alternative is associated with the sensor reporting the opening of the rotary latch and at the same time an electrical power acting on the drive unit falling below a predetermined threshold.
- the drive unit is controlled depending on signals from the sensor and is ultimately switched off after the opening process, as soon as not only the sensor reports that the rotary latch has been opened, but also as soon as the electrical power acting on the drive unit falls below a predetermined threshold. It is only when these two conditions coincide that the signal is ultimately generated or the drive unit is switched off and can also be switched off as a result of the signal generated.
- the procedure is usually such that the predefined threshold of the electrical power acting on the drive unit corresponds to a threshold of the electrical current drawn by the drive unit as a function of time.
- the aforementioned electrical power threshold is associated with a threshold electrical current consumption. Because it can generally be assumed that the electrical voltage applied to the drive unit remains the same throughout or at least is not subject to any major fluctuations, so that ultimately the electrical current drawn by the drive unit and falling below the specified threshold as a measure of the free opening of the rotary latch in connection with which the opening of the rotary latch reporting sensor can be used according to the invention.
- the invention is further based on the finding that the free opening of the rotary latch is generally achieved when the pawl enters an overtravel range.
- the drive unit applies almost no load to the pawl because the pawl is safely lifted off the catch.
- the procedure is usually such that the entry of the pawl into the overtravel range correlates, in particular coincides, with the threshold of the electrical power that is to be undershot.
- the invention is based on the finding that the electrical current drawn by the drive unit has a characteristic time behavior. First, a sharp increase in current is observed to start the drive unit and overcome any breakaway torques. Following this, the electrical current consumed by the drive unit falls mostly exponentially during the direct or indirect loading of the pawl. As soon as the pawl reaches the overtravel range, any interactions between the pawl and the catch are ruled out, so that in the overtravel range the pawl is acted upon with the aid of the drive unit in an almost load-free manner.
- the subject matter of the invention is also a device for operating such an opening drive, which operates particularly advantageously according to the claimed method.
- the sensor can be positioned just to query the rotary latch in such a way that it only generates a signal as soon as the rotary latch can be opened freely. With this signal, the drive unit acting directly or indirectly on the pawl is usually braked and/or reversed, so that an existing, but not necessarily the necessary end stop is either not required or is at most approached at a reduced speed by the drive unit.
- the overtravel range of the pawl and its attainment is associated according to the invention with the current drawn by the drive unit falling below a predetermined value.
- this absorbed current corresponds to the fact that the drive unit acts on the pawl with almost no load, which means that any interactions with the rotary latch in this overtravel range do not (or no longer) occur as a matter of principle. This is where the main advantages can be seen.
- Fig. 1 An inventive device for operating a
- FIG. 2 shows a time diagram which shows the actuation of the sensor as well as the current consumed by the drive unit in a time-resolved manner.
- a device for operating an opening drive for a motor vehicle lock is shown.
- the motor vehicle lock is not limited to a motor vehicle door lock.
- the motor vehicle lock or motor vehicle door lock has a locking mechanism 1, 2 from im essential rotary latch 1 and pawl 2.
- a pawl 2 directly or indirectly acting drive unit 3, 4, 5, 6 is realized.
- the position and position of the rotary latch 1 can be queried using a sensor 7 ask.
- the drive unit 3, 4, 5, 6 has the previously mentioned electric motor 3, which carries a worm 4 on its output shaft.
- the worm 4 meshes with a toothing of a worm wheel 5 on the outer circumference.
- the worm wheel 5 is equipped with a cam 6 which, according to the exemplary embodiment, is able and set up for direct loading of the pawl 2 .
- an end stop 9 for the drive unit 3, 4, 5, 6 is also realized, which in principle and according to the invention is also unnecessary.
- the end stop 9 can be equipped with rubber elements (not expressly shown) or a buffer in order to avoid a hard stop of the worm wheel 5 interacting with it at the end of the actuation path of the drive unit 3, 4, 5, 6 and to minimize any associated acoustic noise.
- the rotary latch 1 performs a free opening as soon as the pawl 2 can no longer interact with the rotary latch 1 .
- this is the case when a detent 1a, 1b or both detents 1a, 1b of the rotary latch 1 have safely passed a detent tooth 2a of the pawl 2.
- the pawl 2 is moved with the aid of the drive unit 3, 4, 5, 6 into a so-called overtravel range, in which the pawl 2 is acted upon with the aid of the drive unit 3, 4, 5, 6 in an almost load-free manner.
- the drive unit 3, 4, 5, 6 moves against the end stop 9 or can move against it, as will be explained in more detail below.
- the sensor 7 reproduces the signal “1”, which corresponds to the rotary latch 1 being closed.
- the design is such that the sensor 7 carries out a signal change from "1" to "0" in the sense of an opening of the rotary latch 1 when the pawl 2 moves into an area indicated in FIG "tillerhub” goes over. Reaching this range “tüberhub” means that the current I drawn by the electric motor 3 falls below a predetermined threshold lü or falls below this threshold lü.
- the senor 7 can be placed and designed in such a way that it only reports the opening of the rotary latch 1 when the pawl 2 enters the overtravel range “toverhub”.
- the signal from the sensor 7 and also the current I consumed by the electric motor 3 can also be linked to one another in the control unit 8 .
- the free opening of the rotary latch 1 is achieved when the pawl 2 enters the overstroke area "tüberhub".
- the drive unit 3, 4, 5, 6 can act on the pawl 2 with almost no load.
- the entry of the pawl 2 into the overstroke range “tüberhub” now correlates with the fact that the electric motor 3 falls below the threshold lü of the electrical power consumed or the electrical current I consumed.
- the drive unit 3, 4, 5, 6 can be reversed and/or braked when the pawl 2 enters the overstroke range “tüberhub”.
- there is no renewed increase in current shown in FIG Drive unit 3, 4, 5, 6 has moved against the end stop 9. That is, according to the invention, the diagram according to FIG and/or has been reversed.
